Where the smell comes from on clothes?

It surely ain't pleasant having smelly clothes or having some smell left even after coming out of the washing machine. Those smell normally originate from bacteria growing back on your clothes although it's invisible. This is the reason for line drying inside the house tends to result in having more unpleasant smell than using drying machine, because bacteria surely like humid and dim environment. So, the key for protecting your clothes from unpleasant smell is to have less bacteria as possible on your clothes after wash.

Even though regular detergent may mask your clothes with fancy fragrances, removing or inhibiting bacteria growth on your clothes is an another story. Although regular detergent may be able to remove bacteria during washing cycle with its chemical power, bacteria will just comes right back during the rinse cycle where regular tap water comes in with full of bacteria and mold from moldy pipes and machines.
